Our Story
How a simple conversation at an industry conference became a growing community for women across self storage.
WiSE began with three women at different points in their careers who met at a Self Storage Association (SSA UK) conference and, over a few drinks (as many good ideas start), realised how valuable it was to have each other’s support. They wanted to create that same sense of connection for other women across the industry.
What followed was a decision to organise a small, informal meet-up at the next industry event, FEDESSA (Federation of European Self Storage Associations). When others showed up, that moment made it clear this was something worth building.
Why WiSE Exists
Across the industry, there is an incredible depth of talent - women leading teams, growing businesses, and building successful careers across every area of self storage.
WiSE exists to strengthen those connections and create more opportunities for women to network, share experiences, and feel part of the industry from the beginning of their careers.
Our focus is to build a network that is ambitious, welcoming, and genuinely valuable - where conversations lead to opportunities, and where women at every stage of their careers feel part of something bigger.
Looking Ahead
We’re building something long-term, with plans to expand events, partnerships, and opportunities across the sector.
